Summer Days
The weather is starting to get warmer and game temps are on their way up! One of the biggest obstacles I tackled when formulating Pelican Bat Wax was increasing its melt/softening temp. Baseball is a summer sport and the average MLB game temp is 84.1 degrees. While our bat wax isn't just for MLB, I thought this statistic served as a good gauge for average baseball game temperatures. I bought just about every grip stick out there for comparison. Some where labeled as 'Bat Wax' and others just 'Sticks'. Some had softening points at around 80 degrees and turned into a total gunk fests on your bat. I'll admit most grip are easier to get on your bat then ours, especially the Mota stick. It goes on real easy and you don't have to work it in there too hard. With softness, comes a lower melt temp. It's a trade off I wasn't willing to make. Our product is denser and you'll have to put a little pressure behind it when applying but the result is definitely worth it. I hope everyone is having a great season so far! Stay tuned for some pretty awesome news coming in the next couple weeks :)
